Sonya Dunning - Nonfiction Editor
Holding a B.A. in English from Western Washington University, a M.A. in Literature from Central Washington University, and currently pursuing a M.F.A in creative writing from the University of Idaho, Sonya Dunning (S.J. Dunning) is a scholar and a writer whose roots in the Pacific Northwest run deep. Her poetry and nonfiction have appeared in the following journals: Pif Magazine, Flyway, and Creative Nonfiction. Her essay “for(e)closure” was the winner of Creative Nonfiction’s 2011 MFA Program-Off, and is a “prototype” of sorts for the memoir she is currently drafting—a personal exploration of matters such as home, family, and the American Dream.
